Want to read a true, funny, and 'ewww' story? This was published in the Advance newspaper this week by columnist Mike Taylor, who has won "Best Humor Awards" from the Michigan Press Association. It made me laugh out loud, picturing what "Clarence" went through. I plan to share it with my students in the coming week. Click here to read.

Ah! That's awful . . . and hilarious. I have to walk through the dark after I turn off the lights at the dollar store. It makes me very nervous and jumpy, but at least there are no dead bodies between me and the exit! Poor Clarence.
Too funny! I can picture it even more clearly, because when I was a nursing student, I worked at Harper Hospital in downtown Detroit, and when a patient died I was the lucky one who got to help push the gurney to the morgue. The Detroit hospitals are linked by underground tunnels, some of which have better lighting than others. So imagine pushing a dead body through the tunnels to the morgue and seeing the rest of the "residents" under their sheets in the cold room! I would most certainly have quit if I'd had to turn the lights off and cross the room too!!!! :) Tracie
Great story. My students will love it. Thanks for sharing.
Have a Happy Halloween!

I loved your story. I'm going to share this with my friends as a good Halloween story. My aunt used to work at a morgue & she had an "unfortunate event" where the body she was working on had a bit of air left in him & when she pressed on him his last breath came out, she screamed & made her quick exit. haha I feel bad for her but it does make for a great story haha!
