An odd title, indeed....comes from a choral piece entitled the same by Gwyneth Walker. It's an old Quaker song. In it, the lyrics describe life - from its greatest joys to its lowest lows - and ask again and again, "How Can I Keep From Singing?" I may have the choir sight read it, but it's pretty tough and not a lot of time before festival.
I love the parallels to life...in great pain, in great joy, in everyday mundane, my life is SO blessed by God! HOW can I keep from singing (praising God)?
All is quiet on the western front...the kids have been going to bed earlier these days (by 7:30ish). Unfortunately, even though they're sleeping, the evenings are when I have my least amount of energy. So, the 'ole to do list doesn't get crossed off as quickly as during the day. But I do enjoy the energy of the day, followed by some calm and quiet.
