Sailin' Away!

Set that ship a sailin'! We're headin' over to Muskegon on Thursday morning to sail on the Lake Express! Destination: Milwaukee. Travel time with 4 kids= 2.5 hours = yes! We're taking our van (it's a high speed car ferry) and the kids are very excited about it all! Actually, so are the parents! It will be good to get away with just us before the busyness of everything begins (school for everyone, AWANA, church stuff, etc.). It has been a great summer for us - lots of hangin' out with the kids, doing fun things, relaxing and rejuvenating. I don't have the "I can't wait for school to start" feeling for the kids or myself...I really enjoy just being with them! Back to the Lake Express - kids are free this summer, and Ken's always wanted to go, so it is the perfect time. We're going to hit the Milwaukee Zoo, the Domes Botanical Gardens, Betty Brinn Children's Museum, downtown beach, Reiman Publications (home of Light & Tasty, Reminisce, etc., magazines), hotel pool (has both indoor and outdoor!), etc. My friend Katie always gets cheap hotels through priceline.com, where you name your own price. We put in for a 3 star hotel at $40....and lo and behold, a nice hotel accepted it! How Cool! So, Wednesday is laundry, packing, getting this and that done, and BON VOYAGE on Thursday! :)
